SNAP/Food Stamps

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the new name for the federal Food Stamp Program. The new name reflects the changes we’ve made to meet the needs of our clients, including a focus on nutrition and an increase in benefit amounts.
New Jersey helps (NJhelps) is a one-stop shopping resource for a wide range of programs. Take a few minutes to find out if you qualify for the following nutrition assistance programs as well as other state and federal programs that can help you find food, housing, employment, child care, health insurance, prescriptions, and much more. Financial Services

Financial Assistance is offered to very low to low income individuals and families of Hudson County with special needs.  Depending on the level of need and the availability of resources, the eligible participant will benefit from Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) or Short Term Rent Mortgage and Utility Assistance (STRMU) both programs are designed to thwart homelessness.  Coupled with financial assistance, all participants are offered comprehensive case management, financial education, advocacy and linkages to resources to enhance established goals related too health, education, employment, nutrition and access to mainstream resources.  The financial support together with the supportive services is intended to foster stability and wellness in each household.
